Wow is my head spinning! Grab a seat and hold on tight because you are in for a bit of a spin! I am just eager to start the next book in this series so that I can find out what happens next, but first I must say that so many things have come to light in this book! At the end of The Chosen I was a little confused about Jake, Will, and Emma, even this mysterious prophecy.In this book Jake becomes more human and little boy like for me. I even began to feel sad for him and I wanted so much for him to be found by his Mommy. He shows a vulnerable side and it makes you want to reach in and wrap your arms around him until he feels safe. He is so confused about who to trust and who will have Emma's best interest at heart.
Emma begins to learn that she has real power and eventually makes the connection to her father. I was so mad about the way her mother treated her but very happy to meet a loving grandmother who was able to give her some insight into who her father was. Emma struggles a lot in this book! She knows that she loves Will but can't seem to shake the feeling that he is only there because of the mark on his arm. When she meets Raphael she is immediately drawn to him in her dreams and in every instance when he comes to her rescue. She is chased by two different groups in this this book and she is also hunted by her father Aiden. He come to find out has been holding all the cards! He has created a sick game among himself, Alex, and Raphael. Emma is the bait... the Hunted!
In the end she has to make a choice to save her son, herself, and Will. As a consequence to this choice she loses Will and Jake and possibly even her unborn baby! So many things are unknown for me that I need to dive right into the next book and hopefully sort some of this out!
My heart breaks for Will because even when he loses his mark it is clear that he is truly in love with her before his memories of her disappear! Not only does he lose her, he was absolutely betrayed by his best friend in the process! I would definitely recommend reading this book if you are into prophesies, gods, and the thrill of the hunt!

Wow, that is all I really need to say about this book. I was not very impressed with book 1. I had a hard time finishing it, so I did not have very high expectations for book 2. This book blew me away. The adventure of Emma, Will & Jake is like a rollercoaster. Emma finally discovers that she is a strong women and has the power to change her destiny. The end of this book was mind-blowing. I did not see it coming! I am excited for the next book in this series!
I loved Chosen, book one in this amazing series. I loved it a lot. I was definitely afraid to read Hunted, book two, because what if it wasn't as good? THEN WHAT??
Good news it's just as good. In fact, it may be better. A big part of the book that made it for me was the ending--it was so fascinating! It answers questions from the first book (why are these people after Emma and Jake? Why the prophecy and why do they think Emma is the queen?) and leaves its own questions for the third book. Hunted doesn't read like a middle book of a series, so hooray!
Hunted starts out with a bang and continues its whirlwind chase throughout the rest of the book and leaves the readers hanging going, "WHAT FRESH HECK IS THIS!" and then maybe yelling at the author to send them Sacrifice. I can only imagine what kind of ending Sacrifice has, since there is a fourth book... >__>
What I love about this series the politics. It's probably no surprise that I'm a politics girl, right? I love when politics are added to a book, especially when we learn a certain douchenizzle is running for President. *cough*Warren*cough*. Also, I DID NOT TRUST RAPHAEL AT ALL. Nope. There was something very off about him and gah, that ending where he reveals his true self? I knew it. I KNEW there was something about him. And James... grr. I don't like James either. AT ALL.
I also really liked that Will and Emma delve into Emma's past; it made for an interesting story. I also really liked that they crashed a plane in Wyoming. I like Wyoming, probably because I live here. BUT STILL. Wyoming! Plane crashing! SO MUCH FUN. )
This review kinda sucks, but that's because I'm like halfway through Sacrifice and put off writing a review for Hunted. Yeah. I shouldn't do that. But READ THIS SERIES. Now. Please. It's different than usual prophecy books, seriously. TRUST ME. ;)
I love this series, but I initially found Hunted lacking the spark of Chosen. That doesn't matter to me because it serves as a perfect transition for the series into a few short stories and two more novels. The story does pick up rather quickly, as there's a lot going on.
Emma was infuriating in this part of the story as well, but it's justified because of all the insanity she's dealing with. Her son taken by a mad man, she's traveling with a man she barely knows, two factions are hunting her down, and a creeper dude showing up when she least expects it wherever she goes. Try dealing with that yourself. Will's bestie, James, is pretty awesome. He seems like a typical insecure guy who talks a lot of crap. He'll get no hate from me.
Now let's talk about Raphael... I really liked him in my first read through even though I was sure he wasn't at all trustworthy. His creep factor was OFF THE CHARTS. But he also has this essence about him that's alluring. He's the perfect new character for the story. Right through the end. My opinion on him definitely changed by the end of the series, but here he's kind of wonderful. Unlike Alex.
Hunted is a great transitional novel and well worth the read. I love this series, so I'm obviously biased. ****4.5 STARS****
This series just keeps getting better and better. When I first started the series I had no idea what to expect having never read this author before. I can tell you that I was so glad the 2nd book was already out when I got done because I had to go straight to the next book! I did not want to wait until the next book came out. I am not a patient person and when something has hooked my interest, it's kind of hard not to be constantly immersed in it 24/7. Go get the first book of this series (It's FREE) and read it. What have you got to lose but a few hours of time?
