For everyone out there who is ticked off that amazon screwed up big time with this book release, me included, the way to fix the issue is to contact amazon customer service and have them force the update to your device and you will have the correct text for book 9 rather than book 8 like I got. No matter what I tried to do myself to update the content nothing worked. So it seems your only choice to get it at this point is to have a customer service rep do it for you. The good news is that they call back quickly and it only takes a minute for them to update the content for you. So while I haven't read the book yet I will give the customer service rep the 5 stars since I expect to enjoy this book as much as I have the previous 8.

In the game, the MC Kif is caught in a maze of overlapping quests, confusing both him and the reader. In life, Kif is caught in a crossfire, one where he doesn't really know friend from foe.
This series, though filled with action, moves extremely slow. It's obvious that the author is padding the story, while confusing issues and frustrating readers. Though (we) are interested in seeing how this story will end, actually getting their may be beyond our patience...
Don't let the one star reviews put you off, the problem with receiving book 8 instead of nine has been fixed, so all anyone did when giving this book a one star review was hurt the author, not .
This book is what I've come to expect from Andrey Vasilyev, awesome action, tidy plots and an amusing and likable main charactor.
This whole book series has been so amusing I managed to get my Mum, who's more of an autobiography fan, to read it and enjoy it.
Great fun, talented author.
Finished the book today and have to say it is another great addition to the series. I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys the litrpg genre. Only issue I have with this series is that they seem to go by to quickly and I end up waiting for the next one.
For those holding off, it seems that has fixed whatever was wrong that caused some readers to get book 8 instead. New book on first download. No customer support needed.

Another great installment in an increasingly addictive series. Knocked this one out in a day and am looking forward to the next one.
This is one of the very best LitRPG series that I have read and the only reason this particular book has been rated so low by some other reviewers are some technical issues that dogged the book on its launch but that have since been fixed or at least my copy was problem free. )
I had not read this author before and bought book one as a trial, however, it was so good that I rapidly bought and read my way through to the current latest (book 10). I thoroughly enjoy the MC and the author's consistent quality as well as the excellent job the translator is doing.
The IRL and virtual worlds are very detailed with complex plots linking the two and putting the MC under constant pressure from which he can never escape. He cannot just log out or log in for a break, there are people, monsters and conspiracies out to get him wherever he goes.
And, OMG his love life, it is convoluted and looks set to change at any moment, providing more crushing pressure for him to deal with.
Really looking forward to the next book. )
Like many others I needed to contact the help desk to get the correct book I had pre-ordered. Happy I did as the book was a good read, not at all happy that couldnt fix the purchase after they became aware of the probkem without making us seek individual attention.
I too bad pre-order and received the wrong book. However, after talking with an customer service rep, they fixed it quickly. (They forced the updated download to my and that's all that was needed. Took about five minutes, tops.)

I would also like to thank the author, who did everything he could to help readers get the correct book - his Facebook page was swamped with requests and complaints. (If I'd have been him, I'm not sure I would have been able to handle it so well.)

The book itself was another great hit by the author, with all the twists, turns and excitement we've all come to expect. The only problem, like another reviewer said, is that the book is too short. I devoured it in one sitting! Now what am I going to do while waiting for the next one to come out! ☺
